Your Football Tailgate Guide for Fall

As the breeze cools down and leaves begin to change colors, football fans rally together. The fall football tailgating season is back! Whether you’re standing along the sidelines or watching from a television screen in the stadium parking lot, or at home on the couch with friends a big part of the football season lies in the tailgate experience before the games. ROOT 23 has just the tips you need to create a one-of-a-kind football tailgate, starting with the drinks.  

If you’re hosting a tailgate the day of a noon game, the festivities can start as early as 8am. Cocktails may not be your first choice that early in the morning, but an Irish coffee sure can be! With a splash of ROOT 23’s Maple Cinnamon or Cherry Almond Simple Syrup, you can add a kick of flavor to your spiked cup of joe. Our Maple Cinnamon Cider is a crowd favorite that can be made with 2 oz. Rum, 1 oz. ROOT 23 Maple Cinnamon Simple Syrup and cider over crushed ice.

A Vanilla Manhattan is a trendy drink that’s sure to impress your tailgate guests. Combine .5 oz. of Sweet Vermouth, 3 dashes of aromatic bitters and .25 oz. ROOT 23 Vanilla Ginger Syrup in a mixing glass with ice, stir until chilled and strain into a glass. For an extra touch, add a garnish with an orange peel and/or Luxardo cherry.
